Rhonda Moniz is a diving safety officer, underwater cinematographer, science diver, open water instructor, and underwater video equipment specialist.  Her diving career spans thirty years.  She has served as the lead science diver and underwater videographer for the University of Massachusetts – Marine Science and Technology Campus, and the University of Rhode Island. She has worked as the underwater Director of Photography for the Public Archeological Laboratory, Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Museum of Natural History in New Mexico and has acted as Science Advisor for the underwater segment of the interactive portion for EVOLUTION an eight hour PBS series for NOVA.

Rhonda works as an Open Water SCUBA Instructor and has attained Master Instructor Rating with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. She also teaches a number of specialty courses including: Night Diving, Dry-suit Diving, Underwater Videography, Wreck Diving, Deep Diving, Underwater Navigation, Research Diving, Underwater Naturalist and Equipment Specialist. She has taught courses at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tufts University, Boston University, Dean College, and the University of Massachusetts- Marine Science and Technology Campus. She is certified to teach: Basic Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Divemaster and Assistant Instructor Ratings. She is also First Aid and CPR Trained.

Her dive training includes Kirby Morgan Surface Supplied Hard Hat training and she holds an inspector certification for the Kirby Morgan SL- 17 Hard Hat from the Academic Diving Program at Florida State University. She is also trained in underwater remote video operations including: Static Platform Video Data Collection, Remote Operated Vehicles, Underwater Video Calibration and Diver Driven Video Production and Data Collection Techniques.

Rhonda is a full member of the American Academy of Underwater Sciences, Divers Alert Network and, the Boston Sea Rovers. She has published several articles for both magazines and newspapers. Her latest article appears in Fathoms Magazine.
