Jody Santos has been producing and directing documentaries for the last five years, both for public television and national cable networks like the Discovery Channel and Hallmark. Most recently, she served as co-producer/writer for Principle Pictures' Disocery Health program, "Breast Cancer Legacy". Prior to this, Jody worked as a producer/director for an independent public television series. As part of her work, she traveled to more than a dozen countries across five continents, documenting everything from the trafficking of women in Nepal to nuclear contamination in the former Soviet Union.

Jody is also a college professor and an award-winning journalist. In all, her stories have appeared in dozens of national and regional publications and on more than 200 television stations across the country. Her career has spanned almost every journalistic medium: stringer for the Associated Press, freelance magazine writer, alternative press editor, and investigative reporter. Over the years, she has appeared on National Public Radio, Unsolved Mysteries and other national news outlets to defend her writings and weigh in on important current events. She has been nominated for an Emmy and recently won a Telly for a documentary she produced on women's reproductive rights in Africa.
